Just a little background on myself: My name is Jacob. I have been born and raised in Houston, Texas since 1996. I went on to attend the University of Houston (Go Cougars!) to pursue a degree in accounting. Eventually, I graduated in 2018 and since then, have been working in corporate accounting and now currently pursuing my CPA license as well. My goal is to become a millionaire (hence the Future Millionaire Blog), but more importantly, help other like-minded people like you along the way.
Growing up, my family and I have been through financial prosperity and also financial stress. In all honesty, I’m glad that I got to experience both because it taught me to not take it for granted. This financial stress taught me valuable lessons about money and frugality at a young age. However, I’ve realized that many parents do not teach their children much about personal finance or even had much knowledge on the subject to begin with. I have been a proponent of making this a required course that should be taught in high school. There are states that require this, but not all. After high school, children take on a lot more responsibility. We all know that children are not the best when it comes to making smart financial decisions. This is reason I’m starting the Future Millionaire Blog is because I want to be able to educate you on making sound financial decisions and hope you can join me on my journey as well.
Educating others has always been a passion of mine. I always enjoyed tutoring others. Here I want to help you become financially literate and help you attain the peace of mind that comes with wealth. Having educated others in various subjects, I’ve realized that the biggest deterrent I saw in them was not having the right mindset. The best investment that any one individual can make is in themselves. As Benjamin Franklin said: “An investment in knowledge always pays the best interest.” I didn’t want to resort to such a cliché statement, and I understand you may want to blow it off. But once you start to buy into yourself, I guarantee you’ll go places. If you allow negativity to take over your mind, I can guarantee you it’ll probably hinder you from reaching millionaire status. My hope is that the information I present you helps you understand your true value so that you can also become a Future Millionaire.
Lastly, I see this as a great way to hold myself accountable. It forces me talk about my spending habits and investing strategies and gives me motivation to keep it going. Accountability is so important when it comes to building wealth. And how better to hold myself accountable than my own entrepreneurial venture about personal finance? Writing things down, setting goals, tracking your progress all go a long way when it comes to holding yourself accountable.
